What is an emergency?

General problems not considered an emergency.

The loss of a filling where there is sensitivity to hot or cold.

Rear or bridge out crown out. (Generally it is important to have these re-cemented as soon as possible certainly within 3-4 days maximum. If the surgery is closed for longer than this then call the emergency number and explain.)

SOLUTION: Book an appointment at the earliest opportunity. If you leave a message on the practice answer-machine we will call you back as soon as we are open, or you can call us during open hours. If you need advice when we are closed call the emergency number.

Emergency problems examples:

Infection and swelling. Persistent bleeding after extraction or oral surgery. Click here for more advice. Persistent pain.

Crown or bridge out at front of mouth.

SOLUTION: Call the emergency number to arrange to be seen by the dentist on call.

Complaints Procedure.

This practice operates a complaints process which aims to resolve any issues or concerns. These should be addressed to Dr Richard Neil Shadwell at the practice address or emailed to neil@highgatedentist.com

We aim to acknowledge any such concern within two working days and to respond in full within ten working days. If we cannot fulfill these timescales, we will let you know promptly. In the unlikely event that the practice is unable to deal with any complaint to your satisfaction, you should contact: Dental Complaints Service, Tel 08456 120 540
